- Choosing this item starts playback for whole of the sequence.

- Choosing this item starts playback from the start time of selection.

- Choosing this item starts playback only selected events from the start time
- of selection. It will end with the end time of selection.

- Choosing this item starts recording. Events recorded are merged into the
- current track and the current channel. Events which had been in the current
- track and the current channel will still remain.

- Choosing this item starts recording from the start time of selection. A
- Recording will end with the end time of selection. Recorded events are
- placed into the current track and the current channel. Events which had been
- in the selected time range, the current track and the current channel will

- Choosing this item starts recording from the start time of selection. A
- Recording will end with the end time of selection. Recorded events are
- merged into the current track and the current channel. Events which had been

- Choosing this item starts recording from the start time of selection. A
- recording will end with the end time of selection. Events recorded will be
- placed into time range you performed (from the first event to the last event
- you performed). Events which had been in the current track and the current
- channel will be replaced with recorded events.

- Choosing this item stops playback or recording.

- 5.4.13. MIDI > Pause [,]

- Choosing this item pauses playback or recording. To release pausing, choose
- this item again.

- 5.4.14. MIDI > Turn off all left notes

- If you change the current channel while notes are on, some notes might be
- left at held on. Choosing this item turns off these left notes.

- 5.4.15. MIDI > Send MIDI event > (event name)

- Choosing this item sends MIDI data you chose. A MIDI data is a pre-defined
- resource in MIDIGraphy application or in a profile. These are following
- resources in MIDIGraphy application:
-
- 1. all note off: All note off events for all MIDI channel.
- 2. all sound off: All sound off events for all MIDI channel.
- 3. reset all controller: Reset all controller events for all MIDI channel.

- For detailed information about MIDI data resources in profiles, refer the
- chapter "Customizing".

- 5.4.16. MIDI > Send dump...
-
- Choosing this item prompts for a dumped file to send to the MIDI out port.
-

- 5.4.17. MIDI > Capture dump...
-
- Choosing this item prompts for a file name and dumps MIDI data incoming from
- the MIDI in port to the specified file.
-

- 5.4.18. MIDI > Insert dump...
-
- Choosing this item prompts for a dumped file to insert into the selected
- time.
-

- 5.4.19. MIDI > MIDI port setup...
-
- Choosing this item displays a dialog which allows you to specify MIDI port
- settings.
-
- 1. MIDI port: Specify a MIDI port to use for playback or recording. You
- can choose one of items: "None", "Modem port", "Printer port", "Use
- MIDI Manager", "Use OMS" and "Use QuickTime".
- o Choose the "Modem port" item or the "Printer port" item if you use
- a MIDI sound generator connected to the modem or printer port of
- your Macintosh.
- o Choose the "Use MIDI manager" item if you use MIDIGraphy with
- Apple MIDI Manager and a compatible sound device.
- o Choose the "Use OMS" item if you use MIDIGraphy with Open Music
- System 2.0 or later. After you chose this item, you have to choose
- the input port name and the output port name by the popup menus.
- o Choose the "Use QuickTime" item if you use QuickTime 2.0 or later
- as a sound generator.
- o If you need not to play back your sequences, you can choose the
- "None" item.
- 2. MIDI thru On: If you check this option, data incoming from the MIDI in
- port will be sent to MIDI-out port.
- 3. External Clock: If you check this option, playback or recording
- sequence will be synchronized to MIDI clock incoming from the MIDI in
- port.

- * NOTE to use with Apple MIDI Manager:
- o If you use MIDIGraphy with Apple MIDI Manager, you have to setup
- port connections after you choose the "Use MIDI Manager" item on
- the "MIDI port setup" dialog. You can setup port connections by
- using the PatchBay application provided with Apple MIDI Manager.
- For details, refer documents of Apple MIDI Manager or online-help
- of the PatchBay application.
- * NOTE to use with OMS:
- o If you use MIDIGraphy with OMS, you have to setup the "OMS setup"
- before you configure on MIDIGraphy. For details about the "OMS
- setup", refer the documents of OMS.
- * NOTES to use with QuickTime:
- o While sequence is in playback, a program change event might be
- executed on time later than expected.
- o You must install both QuickTime 2.0 (or later) and "QuickTime
- Musical Instruments". These extensions must be placed in the
- extensions folder in your system folder.
- o To use MIDI input device via the QuickTime, you have to setup
- devices by the "QuickTime Settings" control panel.

- 5.4.20. MIDI > Playing-options...
-
- Choosing this item displays a dialog which allows you to specify options
- related to playback or other MIDI output.
-
- 1. Use running status: Specify whether or not the running status rule will
- be applied to the data stream which is sent to the MIDI out port.
- 2. Use Note-Off events: Specify whether or not a note-off event will be
- used to the data stream which is sent to the MIDI out port. If you
- don't check this item, a note-on event of which velocity parameter is 0
- will used instead of a note-off event.
- 3. Show playing position: Specify whether or not the playing position
- indicator is displayed. The playing position indicator is a vertical
- line in the graphical mode window or a small triangle at the left end
- of the event list mode window.
- 4. Auto scroll: Specify whether or not the window is auto-scrolled to
- display the playing position. This option is not available if the "Show
- playing position" option is unchecked.
- 5. Mute hidden channels: Specify whether or not hidden channels are muted.
- 6. Mute while pausing: Specify whether or not sounds are muted while
- playback or recording process is paused.
- 7. by disabling note-on / by using controls: On these radio buttons, you
- can choose the muting method: "by disabling note-on" or "by using
- controls". If you choose the "by using controls" option, you can
- specify a control number by the popup menu under the radio buttons
- (usually, it may be 08:Volume or 0B:Expression control change). These
- options are not available if the "Mute hidden channels" is unchecked.
- 8. Lock slidac controller: Specify whether the slidac controller stay at
- the new position or back to the center position when you release it
- after dragging.

- 5.4.21. MIDI > Recording-options...
-
- Choosing this item displays a dialog which allows you to specify options
- related to recording.
-
- 1. Multi-channel recording: If you check this option, each MIDI event
- incoming from MIDI-in port will be placed to its original channel. If
- this option is unchecked, all events will be placed into the current
- channel.
- 2. Metronome click: Specify whether or not metronome sounds are played in
- the recording mode.
- 3. Use MIDI Note: Specify the sound device which is used to metronome
- sounds. If this option is checked, metronome sounds played on the MIDI
- device. If this option is unchecked, metronome sounds played on the
- Macintosh built-in sound device. This option is not available if the
- "Metronome click" is unchecked.
- 4. Bar/Beat, Chan./Note/Velo.: Specify parameters of MIDI note used for
- metronome sounds (bell and click). This option is not available if the
- "Use MIDI Note" is unchecked or the "Metronome click" is unchecked.
